Matt: Hey guys, this is Matt and Greg with Project Unbroken and we’ve been putting together some beginner friendly workouts, stuff you can do in the comfort of your own home and start feeling a little bit better. Getting in a little better shape, get the blood pumping a little bit, releasing all those good chemicals in the brain that you get from exercising.
Matt: Today, we’re going to be working on a new workout. We’re going to be doing three rounds. Some new movements here. We’re doing shoulder circles, Russian twists and jumping jacks. You’re going to spend a minute on each of these sets and then we’re going to run through that whole thing three different times. So, Greg is going to demonstrate how these movements are going to go. Pretty simple.
Matt: We’re going to start with the shoulder circles. So, what Greg is going to do here is reach his arms out to the side and he’s going to start moving his arms in a forward motion, keeping those circles pretty tight, especially if you’re new to this kind of thing. If you’re feeling strong here you can open those circles up, create a little bit more twerk, it’s going to be a little bit more difficult. But for beginners let’s keep them short, alright, small circles. We’re going to run through that for a minute.
Matt: And then, Greg is going to run through Russian twists. So, what we’re going to do here is take a seat on the floor. For beginners, we’re going to keep our heels on the floor but Greg is going to kind of keep a little bit of a sit up position, reaching his arms back and forth to the side. If you want to make this more difficult you can lean a little bit further back, bring those heels up off the floor, and that’s going to be targeting the core a little bit more that way. And Greg is going to try to hold on to that for one minute for his second movement.
Matt: And then, third movement is bring you back to your gym class days, jumping jacks. So feet are going to go out, hands are going to go together. We’ll try to maintain a nice easy pace for jumping jacks for minute three. So, when that third minute’s up, Greg would go back to the shoulder circles and we’re going to start that list all over again.
Matt: Run through that thing three full times. So, if you set your phone or your watch for nine minutes and kind of use that to count down that should do it. If this looks a little bit too easy for you guys, you want to make it more difficult. Maybe add another round or two on there and stack it up a little bit.
