2 Simple Tips To Get Healthier

Greg:                    What is going on, everyone? It is Greg and Matt here from Project Unbroken, and we’re two former heroin addicts that were really unhealthy at one point in our life and turned things around.

Today, what we want to do is give our … We’ll each give a tip on maybe something you can do to turn around your health, something pretty easy. So, my tip is actually something you gave me when I started, and I was working out a good bit, and I was getting back in shape, and I was feeling pretty good, but I didn’t change my diet, and I asked you where to start and you went over my diet with me. I gave you what I was eating and drinking, all of that.

You’re like, “All right, the first thing I want you to do is,” you were like, “I want you to drink water,” and that was huge for me, is … I stopped drinking all of the milk I was drinking, the soda, that Gatorades, all that shit, and I just switched to drinking water, and I noticed a change pretty much immediately.

Matt:                    Oh, yeah.

Greg:                    And I think it’s a really simple and effective tip that people can implement to change their health around right away. I think once I started seeing the changes from just drinking water and how easy that was, then I wanted more.

For me, that was a great starting point. Eliminate all drinks besides coffee. I was drinking coffee still. Only drink water. If you drink anything else, cut it out. Just drink water. Start there. That was a great tip for me.

Matt:                    I’ll tell you what, I didn’t even think about that when we were talking about this, but you guys will probably … If you’ve seen any of our videos, I’d say there’s not many videos when we don’t both have a water bottle.

Greg:                    Yeah.

Matt:                    This thing’s with me all day.

Greg:                    Well, you taught me that … this is a 40 ounce, right? I make sure I get three of these a day.

Matt:                    Yeah.

Greg:                    And just carry it around, drink it. Some people do a gallon jug. It’s really effective.

Matt:                    Guys, it doesn’t even matter how much you drink. Just try to choose water instead of whatever else you’re drinking.

Greg:                    I remember, we were sitting in a circle one day, and I crossed it, and I was coaching. I was like, “Matt, what about Propels? Can that help you?” And you were like, “Dude. Stop being a pussy and just drink water. Just drink water. Man up.”

I ended up doing that. Really haven’t missed the taste or anything anymore.

Matt:                    No. You’ll learn to really love it. Everything will feel better. Everything. Your skin looks better, feels better. It just … It is so important.

Greg:                    It transports all the nutrients you need, and it washes you out.

Matt:                    It’s huge.

Greg:                    It does everything that you need to do.

Matt:                    Yeah. Guys, so, if anything, grab a water bottle. Carry it with you around throughout the day. Make yourself … It doesn’t even have to be a big old 40 ounce or whatever. Anything. Just fill it up a couple times a day. You will lose weight. You’ll feel better, and almost immediately.

Greg:                    Definitely.

Matt:                    That’s a great tip.

Greg:                    What would yours be?

Matt:                    Mine was going to be consistency. This kind of goes with the water thing, but I’m looking more for exercise. Set yourself a baseline of an absolute minimal amount of work that you need to accomplish in one day.

What I mean by this is, when I first started exercising to mainly help the way I felt when I was getting out of my addiction … The biggest thing I would focus on is no matter what, every day I was going to do at least 10 pushups. I don’t care what happened. Worst day ever, everything went to shit, I couldn’t get to the gym, I couldn’t get to anything, I did 10 pushups. Might be right before I went to bed, whatever. It doesn’t have to be 10 pushups. You can have it be your bare minimum is one pushup or one sit-up.

Just don’t allow yourself to miss that. If you can give yourself that win, you can build off of that, over time, and that was huge for me. Even now, I do something every day. Might not be some of the crazy workouts that we do, but I move a little bit, and it’s just stuck with me. That way I just know that I always have that to fall back on. I did something.

Greg:                    I like that, because like you said, you can build off it. It’s kind of like the water thing … Once you start feeling the little effects and doing something little, you start slowly building.

Matt:                    Giving yourself the little wins goes a long way.

Greg:                    All right, cool. There’s two quick tips for you. Got anything else on this, Matt?

Matt:                    Nah, I think that will do it.

Greg:                    All right. Cool. Subscribe below, comment, let us know what you think. Do you want more of these types of videos?

I will see you in the next one.

Matt:                    See you, guys.
