Greg: What is going on, everyone? It is Greg and Matt here from Project Unbroken. As you know, we’re two former heroin addicts, we both were completely out of shape, and health was one of the big things that got us back in shape, and it’s a really big part of our happiness and our success today. A lot of people ask, they’re saying, “Well, I’m completely out of shape. Where do I begin?”
Matt: Yeah. Yeah, a lot of people maybe are coming out of an addiction or out of a bad spot. One of the first things to go is exercise when we’re stuck in a rut.
Matt: And it’s also one of the most effective ways to get yourself out of it.
Greg: Yeah. Even people who were caught in depression, or they came out of a bad relationship, maybe they just never gotten into exercise. I mean, just those people who they feel they’re so out of shape that they don’t even want to go into a gym. You know, they don’t even know what to do.
Matt: I was working with a guy, this was about two weeks ago, and he’s kind of been a bad situation, trying to get out of it, and he messaged me, he was like, “Dude, I’m in a real bad spot. I’m depressed.” It was not good. I said, “Right now, leave your house and run down the street as fast as you fucking can. Like, I mean, just run as fast as you can, run right back.” And he was like, “What are you fucking talking about?”
Greg: I’d probably say the same thing.
Matt: Yeah, and he didn’t … I was like, “Jut go do it, don’t ask me any questions.” I mean, I just kind of remembered this, and he came back and he was like, “Why do I feel better?” It just, a lot of it is getting your blood pumping a little bit. I mean, you’re releasing endorphins and just those feel-good chemicals that when you’re in a bad spot it’s the last thing you want to do, but it’s the most effective thing you can do to make yourself feel better.
Greg: Yeah. For those of you who feel completely out of shape, what do I do, where do I start? We’re going to try to get you started. The biggest thing is getting moving, right? Matt and I came with a plan, we’re going to be putting out some beginner friendly workouts that we just want people to get started with. Get moving.
Matt: This stuff takes five, seven minutes a day tops. I mean, literally everybody can do this. There’s no excuse. I mean, we’re designing these workouts so they can be done in your living room in just a few minutes. Again, this is not necessarily to get in the best shape of your life or whatever. This is for people who are kind of stuck, they want to start that transition into feeling better, and at least for Greg and I, we think this is probably one of the most important things that you can do to get there.
Greg: It is probably the most important thing.
Greg: To change that, those chemicals in your brain, just get that positive feeling going. We’re going to get this started, we’re going to start releasing these workouts.
