Matt: Hey guys, my name is Matthew Miller.
Greg: And I’m Greg Morrison.
Matt: And I am 33 years old. I am a business owner. I am a health coach. I’m a father, and right now I’m a fiance, soon to be married. And Greg …
Greg: Similar story.
Matt: Yeah, pretty similar situation.
Greg: I’m also 33 years old, and I own multiple businesses. I’m in probably the best shape of my life, probably the happiest I’ve ever been, but it wasn’t always like that.
Matt: Now, just 10 years ago, and I think even more recently for Greg, we both found ourselves in the depths of heroin addiction. Greg and I were really good friends growing up through high school and we kind of took the same path and found ourselves with a pill problem, which quickly led into a heroin addiction. And unfortunately, when we kind of reached the peak of our addiction, when it was at its worst, Greg and I, we had to split ways, took different paths. We didn’t talk for five, six years. Let’s say after being best friends for going on decade.
Matt: And luckily, we both were able to clean our lives up and come back together. And we have been able to find success in many areas of our life. Financially, our relationships, health, I know we’re both in the best shape you’ve ever been in.
Greg: Yeah, health is huge.
Matt: But the reason we’re here today is to introduce Project Unbroken. I’ll let you talk a little bit about it.
Greg: Yeah, so Project Unbroken means many things, but one of the big things that we want to do with Project Unbroken is share our experience with addiction. There’s a lot of stories out there where you hear people went through addiction, they got clean, they’re now successful. But what did they do along the way? What about all the little things they did? Parents of addicts, what do you need to look out for? What are signs you can look for? What can you do to help an addict? What did we hide from our parents? We want to talk about the topics that aren’t being talked about by addicts. There’s a lot of great stories out there, but we want to go into depth with our story and talk about all of those details. We started shooting videos, but I don’t even think we know how far it’s going to go yet. We want people to ask questions. What topics do you want? We’re willing to talk about anything moving forward.
Matt: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, we’ve been having these conversations since we kind of rekindled our friendship, and we said like, “Oh, that worked for me,” or, “This really set me back with my addiction and made things a lot worse.” We kind of said, “Maybe these conversations on a platform that people that we don’t know might be able to see them and benefit from them, or share them with a loved one,” whatever. We’re just, we’re hoping that somebody out there can struggle less learning from the mistakes that we’ve made.
Greg: I think at the very least, we want to give hope, you know?
Greg: I mean, we were at the bottom, complete bottom. We were in bad shape, and we worked our way all the way to the top.
Matt: It’s possible.
Greg: So it’s definitely possible.
Matt: So thanks for watching guys. If you know somebody that might benefit from hearing conversations like this, please share our page with them, share this video with them. Let them know that they might be able to benefit from it. If anybody has any questions or topics that you would like us to cover or share our experience with, we’d love to help in any way that we can. So leave a comment, let us know, and we’ll expand on it.
Greg: And we’re going to be doing tons of videos on our YouTube channel. We’ll also put those on our projectunbroken.com website. So you can subscribe to YouTube, check us out on our website. We’re going to continue doing these videos and shooting these topics.
Matt: Yeah. So thanks again for watching, guys. We look forward to talking to you soon.
Greg: Have a good night everyone.
